The Return of the Tentmaker

Return of the Tentmaker
In the tradition of Paul, who followed in the tradition of Jesus, Tentmakers are once again front and center.
Not since the first century have those in the congregation been this well prepared and armed to transform the world.
The dominant model for church was developed 500 years ago, fashioned to harness the power of the written word. The theater style, main event churches were fashioned to harness the power of the mass media culture for the last fifty years. Both have done well for their time.
Digital, interactive, mobile, global communications demand a new response, one perfectly suited for Tentmakers.
Old habits die hard and I've lost count of how many tentmakers or potential tentmakers I've talked to who feel hesitant, reticent or stifled because the stirring they feel doesn't quite fit the setting they may be in.
Come and hear tentmakers making a difference; how they found their calling, how they've developed their ministries and what they've learned that allows them to run the race and continue to qualify for the Kingdom Olympics.
This event may be the most important preparation for expanding the Kingdom you will ever experience.

"Not since the first century have those in the congregation been this well prepared and armed to transform the world."
My reading for years has authors lamenting the ignorance of the general evangelical congregation. I see first century analogies, but I'd like to see this statement's source/s before I drew that conclusion.
I think it is just the missional mind set that tent maker kingdom minded congregations are realizing that it is not an attractional model that we as Christians should be putting our focus on, but living Kingdom in the world..and that means working along side the world, and encouraging others that live in the Kingdom reality to do the same for God, each other, and normal people (non-Christians).
Christ said "go and make discisples"...he did not say stay here build a building and I will send them to you. But, it seems like (especially in my situation)
(and i am currently not a "tent maker"...even though i feel it coming on)
That these missional communities are looking more and more like the 1st Century church in that it is not a "if you build it they will come model" but a new sense of Kingdom living in their entire lives...at work, at home, etc...
And if these Kingdom people are living out loud thier faith in thier entire lives...then they are much more perepaird and "armed" to transform the world, because they are actually living in it(not of it)..instead of shunning it or separating themselves from it. They know it, and because they see it and are not turning their heads away from it they fall in love for it on behalf of their King in their kingdom..and desire beyond even themselves to transform it!
Why does the response require a source? What makes a source creditable? Even if it came from someone that you really respect I hope and pray that you would test it out in your own experience and wrestle with it and see if you can agree or disagree and draw a conclusion of your own.
ust my $.02..God bless yall!
