What Race Are we In?
I heard a clear word at our Return of the Tentmaker event - this is not your parent's church anymore, it's not even the church I'm comfortable with. Carl Raschke shared about the perfect storm - the collision of 4 Mega Trends:
- Generation
- Economics
- Demographics
- Organizational Structures

"this is not your parent's church anymore"
reminds me of something John Wimber once said: "I don't care how you structure your churches, as long as you do not impose those structures on your grandchildren."
I get the sense that we're entering into an ecclesial age where "we" no longer have much control over structure - where structure, global connectedness, communication, and ecclesia start morphing together into a profoundly new relational paradigm.
Maybe we're seeing an altogether new "structure" emerging out of found relationships, not the imposition of will.
